There has been a choir at All Saints’ Church for…oh… ever so many years. Many more than we can remember! Kings and queens have come and gone, wars have been fought and won, children have been born, married, and eventually died, but the choir has continued.
To say that the choir ‘currently has vacancies in all sections’ is to understate the case. We are lucky enough to have good singers in the tenor and bass sections, but we could definitely do with more. And we are in urgent need of higher voices for the soprano and alto sections.
So here is an advert for the choir if you are interested in joining us…
Job title: Choir member
Company: All Saints’ Church
Location: Cottenham, Cambs
Duration: Permanent, no compulsory retirement age
Hours per week: Flexible, usually not more than 2
Salary: None
Person specification
Candidates must be able to sing in tune with others. (Ask your nearest and dearest if unsure.)
Candidates should generally enjoy singing and be attracted by the idea of singing in harmony.
Candidates need not have a voice like Pavarotti, be able to read music/hold a line on their own or commit to attending every single rehearsal and service.
If this is you, then please email Frances on horganfm@gmail.com Even if this is not you, but you know someone who clearly just needs a bit of encouragement, tap them on the shoulder.
Joking aside, the choir really does need more recruits if we are to continue leading worship next year. Do get in touch with us if you feel that you would like to sing – we can be amazingly flexible.
